Space Engine Mini Review – Space Travel.

Most are accustomed to considering The Witcher or Horizon: Zero Dawn to be beautiful games, someone will refute this by showing them Forza Horizon 4 or Skyrim with a hundred mods, but the gameplay of these projects does not provide for the fact that the player will spend hours looking at the landscape, the view of which opens from the top of a mountain, or for an incredibly long time looking for an angle for ideal screenshots, and maybe he will take thousands of them. I don’t deny that in the same Witcher, even at the starting location, I managed to take about a hundred screenshots, or just remember RDR 2..
True, few people think that initially the surrounding world in these games is not only mundane, although fantastically beautiful, but is also only wrapper for gameplay..

Good day, everyone, who accidentally stumbled upon this article, and today I present to you a review of the Space Engine project, which will change your entire understanding of the beauty of the world around you in games.

Begin I’d like to from the mention of the fact that I found out about this project quite by accident and literally a couple of days ago, and immediately bought it, which is nonsense, and after launching it, I realized that obliged make a review.

What is Space Engine?? According to the description on Steam, is a scientifically accurate and photorealistic 3D space simulator that simulates the entire Universe. Modeling occurs only on the basis of data obtained by humanity during such a short period of space exploration. Undoubtedly, in reality, most of the objects presented in Space Engine differ from the computer model, however, if we really think about it, our knowledge is already incredibly insignificant, and this project may at least somehow expand it.

But what’s the point gameplay in a https://alwaysvegascasino.co.uk/ similar…game, you ask. On travel, I’ll answer.
You will travel across the universe, travel to distant galaxies and nebulae, travel across the surface of generated and real planetoids, you will even be able to visit a recently captured black hole.

Again, according to Steam and the official developer website, in Space Engine you can create planes and spaceships for travel, but, unfortunately, so far I have only mastered free camera mode. Seriously, the game is so technologically sophisticated that it will take dozens of hours to explore all the features. Just look at the information interface with the same free camera mode, and then look at the control settings. Personally, only intuitively, after an hour, I understood how to disable the information block.

I note, what is this high barrier to entry in 100% of cases it has a detrimental effect on the consumer’s perception of the project any level. And Space Engine is real except from this rule. After all, it is this cumbersome, initially incomprehensible interface that allows the user, by studying it, realize, what does he need from the project.
Space Engine can be used to study astronomy, because when approaching any object you are shown its mass, speed, distance from the nearest star, the presence and percentage of oxygen in the atmosphere, if there is one, and many other parameters, the built-in Wiki assistant makes it possible to simply learn something new about a star or planet, because in a couple of clicks you can see known facts about the object, you can study constellations by turning on the function of completing them.

In the end, you can simply enjoy traveling through space, taking great pictures or jumping to the other end of the galaxy by changing the flight speed with the mouse wheel.

And so smoothly I reached main feature Space Engine space. How fantastic it is done! Keep in mind right away that you were involved in development domestic team of just a few people, and before early access it was nine whole years. Despite this, even now everything in the project looks incredibly colorful. Many of the planetoids you accidentally encounter are highly detailed; by the way, you can land walk on them.

The space around you looks fantastic in itself, and how many beautiful objects can be seen here… In addition, users can share the coordinates of the places they find, and take my word for it, those places, if you can call them that, are simply impossible to describe in words. The most interesting thing is that all this beauty can be easily rendered on relatively average hardware.

And here is an extraordinary space soundtrack, which you turn on yourself in a special music player. And in a couple of clicks you can add your own compositions, and so it happened that for almost half an hour I flew to the title theme of “Interstellar” from Hanz Zimmer, and, again, it is impossible to put into words..

60 years ago people watched on their black and white on the screens of man landing on the Moon, then everyone dreamed, looking at the sky, about at least someday looking at the Moon up close, and 60 years later I have on your hard drive installed game, although it’s hard to even call it a game that allows you to step, albeit on a virtual surface, practically, any planets, fly through hundreds of galaxies at a speed of 326 million km/s or slowly fly around a cluster of stars or our native Earth.

I understand perfectly, what this review looks like crumpled subjective opinion, Yes, and we need to give some kind of rating. And it turns out that if I give a rating below the maximum (“Amazing”), then I will deceive myself, on the other hand, fans of dynamic action may suddenly declare that Space Engine is another No Man’s Sky, by the way, maybe it is such there was supposed to be a game, but something went wrong.
Eh, In any case, I will have to make some choice..
Not in vain I pointed out that Space Engine is a project that can hardly be called a “game”, but just such a project can be called "work of art".
And, as we know, works of art not obliged like everyone, but that’s why they don’t stop be masterpieces.

P.S. Sorry, that I didn’t hide the footage, but they really are incredible, and I wanted to show them to everyone.
